Hello!

The Monthly Monday will be sent out once a month on the Monday following the alumni meetings, which are held the second Wednesday evening of every month. ALL alumni are welcome and encouraged to join us for the monthly meetings! We meet at Caribou Coffee in the South Side Works. This is just another tool for all of us to stay connected.

Enjoy!

LLS Fact of the Month

Last June, results of long-term clinical trials were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conference that showed that the drugs Sprycel and Tasigna could potentially replace Gleevec as frontline therapy for treating newly diagnosed chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) patients. This is great news all around, and we can be so proud that LLS research funding helped advance all of these drugs.

Calling all PURPLE PEOPLE— Pittsburgh Marathon HELP WANTED!

Team In Training is the signature charity of the Pittsburgh Marathon, and we‘re looking to have a huge presence on the event course! To do this, we’re looking for volunteers to help us at our Waterstop (at the end of Mile 7) or at our Cheer Station (at our office location at the end of the TNT Mission Mile, which extends the entire length of Mile 8).

If you‘re not participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon, we‘re encouraging you to come out and cheer on our TEAM, while helping promote the program we love so much! If you are participating, or have friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, kids in need of service hours, etc.— send them our way!

If you, or others you know, would like to help out at the Waterstop, please e-mail Kira Foley at Kira.Foley@lls.org.

If you, or others you know, are more interested in decking yourself out in purple and green and taking part in the TNT Cheer Station at the beginning of Mile 9, please contact Chelsea Trimble at Chelsea.Trimble.lls.org.
