LLS Fact of the Month In 2009, it is estimated 44,790 people will be diagnosed with leukemia. We are working with a local hospital to meet and interact with local patients who are currently being treated for a blood cancer. Our goal is to stay in contact with these patients throughout our training. We will then present these real life heroes with our medals at the end of our event. If you are interested in joining us, please send your name, e-mail, phone number, and event training for to Justin Schell at: justin.schell1@verizon.net BOOT CAMP for a CAUSE Confluence Fitness wants to invite Team in Training alumni to Camp Confluence, “boot camp” style workouts right on the North Shore. Muscular endurance, strength, and flexibility are necessary to become a better athlete and enhance performance. Camp Confluence will guide you through the major components of all around fitness. We hold three classes a day Monday through Thursday at 6am, 12pm, and 6pm. Friday’s classes are at 6am and 12pm. You may choose your own workout schedule, and can come every day, or come once or twice a week depending on your preference. We will be making a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for every member and alumni of Team in Training who joins. In addition, Confluence Fitness and boot campers are also running The Great Race to help raise money for the LLS and would love to have Team in Training alumni join us! Pen’s Ticket Raffle Helen of the Nike Team is raffling two tickets to the Oct 24 Penguins – NJ Devils game. The seats are in Section B17. The tickets also come with a south lot parking pass. Elora was a wonderful and happy girl who lost her fight with Leukemia in 2006. Her memorial race has become a tradition for the TNT Alumni Club. This is a wonderful family event that is followed by the TNT Alumni Picnic. If you are joining us at the picnic, please bring a food item. Additionally, we will be collecting a small monetary gift for non and alcoholic beverages and additional food.
