LLS Fact of the Month

The leukemia death rate for children 0 to 14 years of age in the United States has declined 88 percent from 1969 to 2006. Despite this decline, leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under age 20. About 460 children under the age of 15 are expected to die from leukemia in 2009.

Recruitment Initiative---How YOU can get involved!

We want to spread the word about how fantastic joining the TEAM is! We want to help to get others to join TEAM and share in this amazing cause, complete fantastic endurance events, and make some purple memories. Here is how YOU can help!

Corporate Road Show—please let us know if your place of employment (or any other business that you know of) would be interested in a “Lunch and Learn” session about TEAM. Basically, this would be an info session held at the business during regular business hours for employees who are interested in learning about our great program! For more information, contact Justin Schell:

justin.schell1@verizon.net .

Farmer's Markets—the office is looking for alumni / volunteers to hand out purple TNT bags with information at local farmers’ markets. This is a grass-roots marketing campaign and we really need your help! You pick the famer's market and day, and the office will set it up and provide the goody bags! Please contact Stephanie Apter if you can

help: stephanie.apter@aiu3.net.

If you have any recruitment ideas or ways that you can help, please email Melanie at the office: Melanie.Grinder@lls.org.
